BTC Map Data Reveals Significant Growth in Bitcoin-Accepting Retailers

It has been revealed that the number of brick-and-mortar retailers accepting Bitcoin (BTC) as a payment method has tripled in the past year.

According to data from "BTC Map," a site that lists stores around the world where BTC payments are available, the count of BTC payment-compatible stores has increased from 2,207 on January 2, 2023, to 6,332 as of January 8, 2024.

Although the BTC Map does not reflect every store that accepts Bitcoin, it is anticipated that the actual number of stores where Bitcoin can be used is even higher.

Based on the current listings, it can be inferred that the number of stores accepting BTC has approximately tripled in 2023.

High Concentration of Bitcoin-Accepting Stores in America, South America, and Europe

Stores that accept Bitcoin payments are particularly numerous in regions such as "America, South America, and Europe."

In contrast, Asian regions have comparatively fewer stores accepting BTC. This disparity may be due to fewer store registrations outside English-speaking areas.
