BitPay Expands Support to Over 100 Cryptocurrencies

With companies like Ralph Lauren and Ferrari already on board, this development signals a significant leap in cryptocurrency usage in retail and online transactions, marking an important milestone in digital finance.

BitPay Now Supports Multiple Cryptocurrencies Including UNI, BNB, and LINK

Cryptocurrency payment service provider BitPay announced on January 9, 2024, that it has started supporting over 100 different cryptocurrencies.

Established in 2011, BitPay is a cryptocurrency-related company that offers a wallet app capable of managing multiple cryptocurrencies. Additionally, it supports the implementation of cryptocurrency payments in various stores around the world.

Previously, BitPay already supported several cryptocurrencies, but this new expansion includes several tokens, enabling customers using BitPay’s cryptocurrency payment platform to utilize these tokens for payments. The newly supported cryptocurrencies include:

  • Uniswap (UNI)
  • Build and Build (BNB)
  • Chainlink (LINK)
  • Cronos (CRO)
  • Basic Attention Token (BAT)
  • VERSE (VERSE)

Multiple New Features Added to BitPay's Invoice System

The recent announcement also highlighted the revamp of BitPay's invoice system, with the addition of several new features:

  • An updated invoice design for a more intuitive and simple payment process
  • Compatibility with Wallet Connect 2.0, enabling Web3 wallet connections to BitPay invoices
  • Automatic display of assets and balances stored in the customer’s wallet on the invoice UI, facilitating easier selection of the optimal payment method
  • Dark mode compatibility
  • For payments using the BitPay wallet app, invoices can be sent directly to the customer’s device for transaction completion

BitPay offers a variety of cryptocurrency payment services, enabling the use of cryptocurrencies for payments in stores and online stores, as well as for bills and loans, and for purchasing gift cards with cryptocurrency.
