W Token airdrop request from "April 3".
Wormhole, a provider of cross-chain bridge services for cryptocurrencies, will start accepting claims for the airdrop of its newly issued proprietary token "W" on April 3rd, 2024.
Wormhole is an information transmission protocol capable of transferring various cryptocurrencies across different blockchain networks, offering a system that enables the transfer of cryptocurrencies on over 30 chains including Ethereum, Solana, and COSMOS.
W tokens are Wormhole's newly issued proprietary tokens, and although Wormhole previously announced its policy of airdropping (free distribution) W tokens to eligible wallets, it has been reported that W token airdrop reward claims will be available beginning April 3, 2024.
Who is Eligible for the Free Distribution of "W" Tokens?
The recipients of the free distribution of "W" tokens are "users who have interacted with chains, applications, or communities within the Wormhole ecosystem in the past". Currently, it is also possible to check eligibility for receiving the tokens on a dedicated page.
If you wish to verify your eligibility for the airdrop, you can do so by following these steps:
- Access the "Check Eligibility Page"
- Select a network and connect your wallet (Discord account connection)
- Eligibility status will be displayed
The snapshot (recording of holding volume and transaction history) to determine eligibility was implemented on February 7, 2024.
The maximum supply of "W" tokens is "10 billion W", with approximately "617.3 million W" being distributed in the airdrop. "500 million W" is allocated to Wormhole users, and "117.3 million W" to Discord users, among others.

"W" Token to Be Listed on Major Cryptocurrency Exchanges
The "W" token is scheduled to be listed on major cryptocurrency exchanges, with the world's largest crypto asset exchange, BINANCE, already announcing its listing.
The exchanges reported to list the "W" token include, but are not limited to, the following:
- BINANCE
- Bitget
- Kraken
- OKX
- Gate.io
Currently, there have also been reports of "fake Wormhole accounts" being created on social media. Therefore, it's important to be cautious and avoid connecting your wallet to fake sites or falling for scam tokens.
