Introducing the Web3-Compatible Handheld Console: SuiPlay0X1 | Supports Both PC and Smartphone Games

In a groundbreaking move for gaming enthusiasts and blockchain advocates alike, Mysten Labs introduces the SuiPlay0X1 - a portable gaming console that seamlessly blends the worlds of traditional gaming with the burgeoning field of Web3.

As we eagerly await its post-2025 release, the gaming community stands on the cusp of a new era.

The Launch of SuiPlay0X1: A Handheld Gaming Revolution

Mysten Labs, the developers behind SUI, announced the launch of the "SuiPlay0X1" on April 10, 2024. This device marks the industry's first handheld gaming console with built-in Web3 functionality.

Equipped with an operating system called "PlaytronOS," the SuiPlay0X1 is a portable gaming device that supports both Web2 and Web3 games available on PC and smartphones.

It is compatible with various gaming stores such as Steam, Epic, and Gog, allowing players to enjoy a wide range of games.

The announcement of this groundbreaking gaming console was made at the large community event "SuiBasecamp," and pre-registration for the device has already begun.

Upcoming SuiPlay0X1: What We Know So Far

While specific details about the SuiPlay0X1 remain under wraps, it has been revealed that the device will standardly support the Layer 1 blockchain "Sui." This integration means that users will directly connect their device's account system, enabling them to own assets in a seamless manner.

The pre-registration page hints at the possibility of playing games while earning rewards and owning assets, suggesting that Play-to-Earn (P2E) games will be playable on this device.

Additionally, the SuiPlay0X1 is reported to support Web3 games based on blockchains other than Sui, making it an incredibly appealing gaming device for players interested in Web3 gaming.

Furthermore, Playtron supports a wide range of game distribution platforms and hardware configurations. Developers do not need to create games exclusively for Playtron, with the official website predicting that "Playtron will be available on PCs, TVs, XR, and even cars within a few years."

The SuiPlay0X1 is slated for global release in stores sometime after 2025, with an expected retail price of around $500.
