Introduction to Arkham Intelligence's Latest Innovation

On April 12, 2024, Arkham Intelligence, a leading firm in the analysis of cryptocurrency and blockchain data, announced the creation of a comprehensive dashboard that aggregates data on the world's top cryptocurrency holding countries.

This new platform consolidates various blockchain data, offering an easy-to-navigate interface where users can view assets held by prominent companies and government-controlled cryptocurrency wallets, as well as their transaction histories.

The newly released dashboard brings together extensive data on the major cryptocurrency holders—namely the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and El Salvador.

This centralized page provides insights into each country's total asset holdings, Bitcoin (BTC) quantities, balance history, and transaction records, facilitating a holistic view of global cryptocurrency distributions.

Dominance in Cryptocurrency Holdings: The United States Leads the Way

According to data published by Arkham, the United States is the country with the largest cryptocurrency holdings as of April 13, 2024, and the following is reported for each country's cryptocurrency holdings at the time of writing (*based on prices and data as of April 13, 2024).

Country name Value of cryptopcurrency held BTC holdings
USA Approximately $14.3 billion Approx. 212,847 BTC
UK Approximately $4 billion Approx. 61,245 BTC
Germany Approximately $3.3 billion Approximately 49,858 BTC
El Salvador Approximately $380 million Approx. 5,718 BTC

In addition to Bitcoin, the U.S. government also holds a large number of altcoins, which can be viewed on a public dashboard (free account registration is required).

The data shows that the U.S., U.K., and Germany have particularly large holdings of cryptocurrency, most of which was reportedly "seized in a cryptocurrency-related incident.

The government of El Salvador, on the other hand, purchased bitcoin as a "long-term investment strategy," and in March of this year reported that it was "continuing its efforts to purchase one bitcoin every day.

The U.S. government has announced its policy of selling off seized cryptocurrencies, and the cryptocurrency industry is concerned about the "impact on prices from the U.S. government's large-scale sale," but the aggregated data released this time is expected to be useful in confirming the trends of various governments.
