Trump Names J.D. Vance as Vice Presidential Candidate

Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the US presidential election, has announced that Senator J.D. Vance, who holds cryptocurrency, will be his running mate.

On July 16, 2024, Trump revealed through his social media account that he chose Vance after much deliberation and consideration of many talented individuals, stating, “After thorough consideration, I have determined that the most suitable person for Vice President is Senator J.D. Vance.”

J.D. Vance’s Positive Stance on Cryptocurrency

Senator J.D. Vance is known for his positive stance on cryptocurrencies. His 2022 financial disclosure report revealed that he holds between $100,000 and $250,000 worth of Bitcoin.

Vance has also been actively working to improve the cryptocurrency environment in the US. He voted in favor of a joint resolution to overturn an SEC rule requiring banks to report cryptocurrencies as liabilities on their balance sheets and expressed strong concerns about the SEC’s misconduct in the lawsuit against the crypto company DEBT Box.

Trump and the Republican Party have officially declared their intention to end the “hostile crackdown on cryptocurrencies by the Democratic Party.”

If Trump wins the presidential election, it is expected that crypto-friendly policies will be introduced in the US, leading to growth for the entire industry.
