Real Bedford's Significant Bitcoin Acquisition
On July 22, 2024, it was announced that the England football club "Real Bedford" had purchased approximately $4.5 million worth of Bitcoin (BTC).
Real Bedford was acquired in 2022 by renowned cryptocurrency investor Peter McCormack. According to McCormack, the recent purchase amounts to around $4.5 million. This acquisition is part of an ongoing strategy, with the club continuously investing in Bitcoin. As of July 23, 2024, Real Bedford holds a total of 82.7 Bitcoins, valued at approximately $5.5 million.
Considering the acquisition cost, the total expenditure is approximately $5.5 million, resulting in a profit of about $130,000. Real Bedford aims to participate in the Premier League and is using cryptocurrency investments as one of the funding sources to strengthen the team.
Out of the acquired Bitcoins, about 16 Bitcoins will be allocated to soccer-related expenses, while the remaining Bitcoins will be kept in reserve.
