Trump Campaign Raises Over $4 Million in Cryptocurrencies Including BTC, ETH, and XRP

The Trump campaign has amassed over $4 million through cryptocurrency donations, with prominent figures like the Winklevoss twins and leaders from Ripple and Kraken making significant contributions.

As Trump prepares to address the Bitcoin 2024 conference, further fundraising and potential legislative support for Bitcoin are anticipated.

Cryptocurrency Donations Detailed in FEC Report

On July 25, 2024, CNBC reported that former President Donald Trump's campaign has raised over $4 million in donations through various cryptocurrencies such as BTC, ETH, XRP, and USDC.

According to the second-quarter report of 2024 submitted to the Federal Election Commission, the Trump campaign received donations in BTC, ETH, XRP, USDC, and several meme coins.

From April 1, 2024, to June 30, 2024, at least 19 donors contributed over $2.15 million in Bitcoin. These donors hailed from 12 different states and represented a diverse range of professions, including housewives, military personnel, missionaries, painters, pizza shop sales staff, and security technicians from the State Department.

Among the top contributors were the Winklevoss twins, each donating Bitcoin equivalent to $1 million. However, reports indicate that these contributions were refunded as they exceeded the donation limit. The Winklevoss twins have also stated on X (Twitter) that they will vote for Trump in the November presidential election.

Mike Belshe, CEO of cryptocurrency security company BitGo, donated $50,000 in Bitcoin. Jesse Powell, co-founder of the cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, also contributed beyond the limit and received a partial refund.

Stuart Alderoty, Chief Legal Officer of Ripple, confirmed a donation of $300,000 in XRP.

Upcoming Bitcoin Conference and Further Fundraising

Trump is scheduled to speak at the ongoing Bitcoin Conference "Bitcoin 2024" on July 28 (JST), where further fundraising efforts are anticipated.

Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis, a supporter of cryptocurrencies, is expected to announce a new bill to make Bitcoin a reserve asset for the United States at this event.

With recent news focusing on "Bitcoin investments by the U.S. government and some states," industry stakeholders are keenly watching Trump's statements at the conference.
