MetaMask, a cryptocurrency wallet supporting multiple blockchains, has introduced a new upgrade that enables automatic blockchain network switching while using decentralized applications (DApps).
This upgrade was first reported on August 31, 2024, by X user MilliΞ (@llamaonthebrink), with the official MetaMask X account subsequently reposting the information.
MetaMask has long been a multi-chain wallet compatible with various blockchains. However, users previously had to manually switch networks within MetaMask when transitioning between services on different blockchains.
With the recent upgrade, MetaMask now automatically switches networks when users switch between tabs of different blockchain DApps.
This improvement is expected to streamline the experience for those utilizing multiple DApps, making the process much smoother.
MetaMask has consistently worked to improve its wallet's functionality. In April of this year, the platform introduced a feature that allows users to check their eligibility for airdrops in bulk.
In August, MetaMask added a feature enabling users to exchange and transfer cryptocurrencies in a single step.
More recently, MetaMask began testing the "MetaMask Card," the world’s first Mastercard payment card that allows direct payments from the MetaMask wallet.
These ongoing enhancements and the potential for new service offerings indicate exciting developments ahead for MetaMask users.
