Enhancing Fast Food Experience with Shibarium's Layer 2 Blockchain

Shibarium, the Layer 2 blockchain network of Shiba Inu (SHIB), announced on September 12, 2023, that Welly, an Italy-based fast-food franchise, has opened a burger franchise leveraging Shibarium technology.

Shibarium is a Layer 2 blockchain built on top of Ethereum, offering a fast and low-cost trading environment that helps build a large-scale decentralized financial (DeFi) ecosystem.

Welly is utilizing Shibarium's blockchain technology for multiple aspects of the fast-food franchise, including restaurant management, customer loyalty, and incentive management, according to reports.

Welly's Strategic Move in Blockchain-Driven Fast Food

Welly had previously reported preparations for the rollout of its burger franchises. However, this latest announcement confirms that "Welly has initiated its franchise expansion aimed at improving the fast-food experience using blockchain technology."

Global Expansion: Starting from Italy to Restaurants Worldwide

The Web3 restaurants run by Welly commenced operations in Naples, Italy, initially. From there, plans are to open new restaurants in Italy and around the world through franchising.

Welly's menu features items like hamburgers, fried chicken sandwiches, and french fries, with options for vegan and gluten-free offerings as well.

Shibarium's blockchain technology used in Web3 environments is expected to be utilized for "customer loyalty," "employee and franchise management," and even for "tracking and management of food from farm to table," according to explanations.

The concept and store layout for Welly were decided in consultation with various opinions from the SHIB community.

Shytoshi Kusama, the Chief Developer of Shiba Inu, stated in an official announcement that "Blockchain can bring benefits to almost all aspects of the restaurant experience, from employees to customers to the food itself," streamlining processes to offer incentives in every facet, enabling both franchise owners and customers to connect with the brand.
