Make sure you're up-to-date to keep your assets secure.

Resumption of Transactions for 10 Cryptocurrencies

After a hacking incident on the 12th of this month that led to the temporary suspension of all crypto-asset deposits and withdrawals, cryptocurrency exchange CoinEx announced on September 20, 2023, that it would resume the deposit and withdrawal services for 10 cryptocurrencies as of September 21, 2023, 8:00 (UTC).

CoinEx had previously announced plans to rebuild and redeploy its wallet system.

These tasks have now been completed, and as of 8:00 (UTC) on September 21, 2023, the following 10 cryptocurrencies' deposit and withdrawal functions will be resumed:

  • Bitcoin (BTC)
  • Ethereum (ETH)
  • Litecoin (LTC)
  • TRON (TRX)
  • Dogecoin (DOGE)
  • Shiba Inu (SHIB)
  • Binance Coin (BNB)
  • Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
  • USDT (ERC20 & TRC20)
  • USDC (ERC20)

Old Deposit Addresses are Now Inactive

With the resumption of the deposit and withdrawal services for these 10 cryptocurrencies, all users' deposit addresses will be regenerated. Therefore, old deposit addresses previously used will become inactive.

The official announcement warns that assets sent to old addresses "will be lost forever." Therefore, it is crucial to confirm that you are sending to the "new address" when depositing cryptocurrencies into CoinEx.

Furthermore, if you have registered 'CoinEx’s old address' in the address book feature of external exchanges or wallets, make sure to update the registration information promptly to avoid transaction errors.

Future Updates and Withdrawal Delays

CoinEx also mentioned that there is a possibility of numerous withdrawal holds occurring in the coming days. This means that the processing of all withdrawal requests may take longer than usual.

Moving forward, CoinEx plans to gradually resume the deposit and withdrawal services for more cryptocurrencies, ensuring the stability of the new wallet system.
