HSBC Enables Cryptocurrency Payments for Mortgage Loans: Now Supports XRP, SHIB and More

Pay Your Mortgage with Various Cryptocurrencies Including BNB, XRP, DOGE, SHIB

Payment service provider FCF Pay announced on September 26, 2023, that HSBC bank customers can now make mortgage payments through their cryptocurrency payment gateway.

Not only can payments be made with major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), but also with a wide array of altcoins such as BNB, XRP, DOGE, and SHIB.

How FCF Pay's Cryptocurrency Payment System Works

According to FCF Pay, their cryptocurrency payment service converts cryptocurrencies received from users into fiat currency before paying the receiving entity.

They expressed the view that "although it would be ideal for stores and companies to directly accept cryptocurrency payments, achieving this overnight is not feasible. A phased approach to integrating cryptocurrency payments is necessary."

Zero Direct Crypto Acceptance but Growing Adoption

As of the time of writing this article, there are no companies directly accepting cryptocurrency payments through FCF Pay.

However, the number of businesses integrating FCF Pay's cryptocurrency payment service is rapidly increasing. It's expected that more stores will offer crypto payments in the future.

FCF Pay’s cryptocurrency payment service is already compatible with more than 21,000 stores. Recent reports indicate that payments for HONDA car leases, water bills in certain regions, and solar panel fees have also become possible via cryptocurrency.

Although currently the service for paying invoices through cryptocurrency is only available in the United States, FCF Pay explained that they plan to extend this service to more regions in the future.
