MetaMask, a cryptocurrency wallet, announced on October 12, 2023, that users in the United States can now purchase cryptocurrency within MetaMask using Stripe.

Stripe is a widely-adopted online payment service used by various businesses around the world. Recently, the service has been expanding its offerings related to cryptocurrency.

The ability to buy cryptocurrency through Stripe is available across multiple platforms, including mobile apps, browser extensions, and MetaMask Portfolio.

The announcement highlighted that users can now easily buy cryptocurrencies using Stripe for fiat currency transactions.

MetaMask Continues to Extend On-Ramp and Off-Ramp Features

MetaMask has been continuously enhancing its capabilities for converting fiat money into cryptocurrency and vice versa—often termed "on-ramp" and "off-ramp" services.

At present, a wide range of payment methods are available for buying cryptocurrency, including PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers.

With the addition of Stripe as a supported payment option, there are now even more ways to buy cryptocurrency, further fueling the likelihood that MetaMask will see increased cryptocurrency purchase activity in the future.

Moreover, MetaMask has started offering a new feature called "Snaps," which allows third parties to extend the functionalities of MetaMask. As a result, new extensions equipped with specialized features are being released.
