X (Twitter) Rolls Out New Subscription Plan "Not A Bot" in Two Countries

X (Twitter) has launched a groundbreaking new subscription plan named "Not A Bot."

Find out how this could influence not only the social media landscape but also various industries, including the world of cryptocurrency.

Launching Test Phase in New Zealand and the Philippines

X (Twitter) has officially started the test phase of its much-anticipated new subscription plan named "Not A Bot" in New Zealand and the Philippines as of October 17, 2023.

The plan is specifically designed to intensify measures against spam and fraudulent bot activities. For the testing phase, existing users will not be impacted, the company clarified.

$1 Annual Fee for Access to Various Features

In particular, new users in New Zealand and the Philippines are required to authenticate their accounts via phone numbers when signing up for X. They then have to choose the subscription plan to proceed.

The annual subscription fee for the new plan has been set at just $1, although it's noted that the pricing may vary depending on the country and currency.

Users who pay the $1 annual fee will be able to use various features on X including "content posting, liking, replying, reposting, quoting, and bookmarking."

Implications for Broader Industries Including Cryptocurrency

While "Not A Bot" is still in the testing phase, if it is officially adopted in other countries, it is expected to have ramifications across various industries, including the cryptocurrency sector.

Should X's services become fully subscription-based, the number of X users and accounts may decrease.

However, this would likely also lead to a reduction in "fraudulent bots" and "various scam-related accounts," which have been an issue in the cryptocurrency industry.
