Explanation of “TREAT” and “Treat Yourself”

On July 9, 2024, Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu (SHIB), explained the upcoming SHIB-related token “TREAT” in an X post. He also announced the start of a tour called “Treat Yourself.”

The post summarized his participation in the recent “IVS Crypto 2024” event in Kyoto and outlined future plans, encapsulated in a single image.

Shytoshi Kusama participated in “IVS Crypto 2024,” engaging with community members, and reported in the image’s introduction that he spent about a week in Kyoto, experiencing Japanese culture.

SHIB-Related Token “TREAT”

The latter part of the post detailed TREAT, explaining that tokens like SHIB, BONE, LEASH, and TREAT each have unique utility and governance roles.

Kusama described TREAT as a token for accessing advanced functions within the SHIB ecosystem, contrasting with the exclusivity-focused LEASH and the technology-focused BONE.

The encryption system partnered with “ZAMA” in late February 2024 is an example of such a system. This partnership allows SHIB community members to utilize fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) functionalities.

Currently, more features are being prepared to complete this system, with final adjustments being made to partnerships that will fully empower the constructed system. Updates on the collaboration with ZAMA are highly anticipated.

Journey Towards a Leaderless Decentralized System

“Treat Yourself” refers to the journey towards making the SHIB ecosystem truly decentralized. Shiba Inu is moving closer to the complete realization of Ryoshi’s vision for a “leaderless decentralized system,” which means Shytoshi Kusama will eventually step back from the spotlight.

Achieving a leaderless decentralized system requires transitioning to a perfectly managed system by a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).

Initiatives such as “Treat,” “Shi,” and “Shibacon” need to be launched alongside the necessary technology to facilitate this transition.

The “Treat Yourself” tour is named after this journey towards decentralization, with Kusama expressing excitement about meeting and talking directly with people interested in cryptocurrency.

Participation in “IVS Crypto 2024” in Kyoto was the first step in this journey, with plans to attend the “Blockchain Futurist Conference” in Toronto and “SHIBACON 2024” in Thailand.

Establishing a solid foundation is crucial for the project’s prosperity in a truly decentralized manner. While it may take some time to realize a fully decentralized system, SHIB currently boasts a large global community.
