Introduction to “solv MEV Mode” for Solana Validators
On July 11, 2024, ELSOUL LABO announced the release of a new feature, “solv MEV Mode,” designed to automate the operation of Solana (SOL) validators and optimize rewards.
ELSOUL LABO, a software development company based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, develops and operates “solv,” an open-source software for Solana blockchain validators.
The “solv” software is widely used on both the Solana mainnet and testnet. The new “solv MEV Mode” aims to solve several challenges faced by validators, including the automation of routine tasks and the optimization of rewards.
Key Features of “solv MEV Mode”

“solv MEV Mode” automatically updates the Solana validator client and solv software to ensure that the latest versions are always running. - 2. Monitoring:
The health status and balance of validators are monitored, with notifications sent to Discord in case of any anomalies. - 3. Automatic Reward Harvesting:
Rewards are harvested automatically just before the end of an epoch, optimizing yield. - 4. Automatic Staking:
Rewards are converted to Liquid Staking Tokens (LST/elSOL) and sent to specified accounts. - 5. Enhanced Security:
The SOL balance of validator nodes is kept low to mitigate the risk of large-scale SOL withdrawals while maintaining high yields.
elSOL: A New Liquid Staking Token
elSOL, announced on July 8, is a new liquid staking token on the Solana blockchain. Managed by the solv development team, it is based on a high-quality validator pool, tokenizing stake accounts.
With “solv MEV Mode,” validators are freed from daily SSH access to nodes, as the system handles automatic reward maximization and compounding.
