*SHIB Domain Provided by D3 and Wallet Address can Now be Linked

Learn how to effortlessly link your *SHIB domain to your crypto wallet addresses with D3.

This partnership between Shiba Inu and D3 brings innovative integration to your digital assets management, supporting a range of cryptocurrencies and blockchains.

Introduction to *SHIB Domains and Wallet Linking

It has been announced that linking domain names to wallet addresses is now possible with the *shib format domains offered by D3, a domain-related company partnered with Shiba Inu (SHIB).

D3 develops next-generation domains that are compatible with both Web2 and Web3, collaborating with multiple companies and projects to launch domains such as *shib, *core, *gate, *near, *vic, although currently, only *shib and *core are being sold.

Previously, purchasing a *shib format domain name only allowed for minting the domain name. However, users can now link their wallet addresses by logging into the official D3 website, navigating to the "My Assets" page, and proceeding to "Manage → Settings".

By linking a wallet address to a domain name like "myname*shib", users can utilize the domain name for various functionalities such as interacting with decentralized applications (DApps) supported by D3 or sending and receiving cryptocurrencies.

How to Link Domain Names with Wallet Addresses

If a domain name has not yet been linked to a wallet address, a "Set as Primary" button will appear next to the domain name. Clicking this button will initiate the linking process.

Wallet linkage is available from "Set as Primary" on the right side of the domain name

Additionally, users can click on "Add addresses" to link wallet addresses from various blockchains, including:

  • Ethereum
  • Shibarium
  • Cardano
  • Polygon
  • Bitcoin
Add addresses
Various addresses can be registered and changed from the "Add addresses" button.

For the Ethereum blockchain, adding ".vana" at the end of a domain name (e.g., myname.shib.vana) makes it compatible with Ethereum Name Service (ENS)-compatible DApps and wallets, allowing the domain name to be used with these services.

However, if a *shib format domain name is used with unsupported services, there might be issues like incorrect cryptocurrency transactions.

Therefore, caution is advised when using D3 domain names. As more services become compatible, it is expected that users will be able to utilize their domain names in various settings.
