MoonPay, a fintech company that develops payment infrastructure to facilitate the easy buying and selling of cryptocurrencies, announced on May 2, 2024, a new partnership with payment giant PayPal.
This collaboration introduces a feature that allows users to buy cryptocurrencies using their PayPal accounts.
MoonPay provides services that enable the exchange of fiat currencies for cryptocurrencies through various payment methods, including debit cards, credit cards, bank transfers, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
With the recent integration with PayPal, users residing in eligible regions can now purchase over 110 different types of tokens through their PayPal accounts, including:
- Solana (SOL)
- Cardano (ADA)
- Polkadot (DOT)
- Chainlink (LINK)
- Shiba Inu (SHIB)
- Dogecoin (DOGE)
Broadening the Scope for Cryptocurrency Sales and Availability
This new feature allows users to buy cryptocurrencies via PayPal without the need to set up new accounts or enter new payment information. MoonPay also plans to enable cryptocurrency sales through PayPal in the future and expand its services to the UK and EU.
According to the official announcement, MoonPay has become the first on/off ramp provider to integrate PayPal for transactions between cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies.
The cryptocurrency purchasing function via PayPal is currently available to users in the United States, with plans to make it accessible through MoonPay’s partner network by mid-2024.
