Following Binance & Bitfinex, the "Third Largest Holder in the World"
An unidentified Bitcoin wallet address has been revealed to have accumulated "118,300 BTC," equivalent to over $4 billion, in about three months, according to data from BitInfoCharts.
This BTC whale's wallet address is "bc1ql49ydapnjafl5t2cp9zqpjwe6pdgmxy98859v2," and when viewed in the BTC holding rankings, it follows "Binance" and "Bitfinex" as the "third-largest BTC whale in the world."
According to the information posted on BitInfoCharts, this address first received "0.25 BTC" in May 2023, and subsequently received "1,700 BTC to 16,650 BTC" in multiple installments until the end of June.
Who Owns the Newly Appeared BTC Address?
Although the owner of this wallet address has not been revealed as of the time of writing, there are views that the overwhelming amount of BTC held may indicate "a possibility that a cryptocurrency exchange is moving Bitcoin to a new address."
Furthermore, the world's fourth-largest BTC whale is "Binance's cold wallet," but since several "owner-unknown BTC addresses" follow in the top list, it is considered that they may not belong to an exchange.
Recent Reports and Attention
Recently, there have been numerous reports that "whales that had been dormant for over 10 years have begun to transfer BTC."
Therefore, attention is now being focused on the movements of such addresses and the activities of newly emerged BTC whales.
