The innovative “Tap-to-Earn” game Hamster Kombat is not just gaining millions of players but also driving a unique trend in Russia.

As users look for ways to tap faster, massage guns are becoming an unexpected tool of choice. With sales soaring and new in-game cryptocurrency HMSTR launching, find out how this game is changing the market.

Using Massage Guns to Increase Tap Count

In Russia, the popular game “Hamster Kombat,” which adopts the “Tap-to-Earn” model, has led to a surge in sales of massage guns, which are massage devices shaped like guns. It has been reported that the game’s influence is driving this trend.

Hamster Kombat is a free game that can be played on the messaging app Telegram, where players earn points by tapping the screen.

Since its launch in March 2024, the game has rapidly gained users, with reports stating that over 200 million people are playing as of the time of writing.

There is a growing trend of users employing massage guns to efficiently increase their tap counts in Hamster Kombat.

Sales Increase by 179%, Vendors Use Hamsters in Ads

According to reports from the Russian news site “Vedomosti,” sales of massage guns on the Russian e-commerce site “Wildberries” increased by 179% in June compared to the previous month.

It appears that some vendors are aware of the use of massage guns in Hamster Kombat. Many of the massage gun advertisements on Wildberries feature images of hamsters.

The primary use of massage guns is for myofascial release and muscle relaxation, but their rapid vibrations can be utilized to increase tap counts on smartphone screens more quickly.

Additionally, on the 8th of this month, cryptocurrency exchange Bybit announced that Hamster Kombat’s unique cryptocurrency, HMSTR, was listed on the pre-market.
